Stage 3 - Valloire - Les 2 Alpes

107km | 3,750m + · Tuesday AUgust 28th

Setting off from Valloire for the start of the third stage, the peloton will come immediately face to face with the celebrated Col du Galibier; rising to 2,642m the ascent averages a misleading 7% over the full 18.1km. The climb features several long sections averaging in excess of 10%, including the final kilometre to the summit! After conquering the Galibier, the Col de Sarenne awaits before a descent down the 21 bends of Alpe d’Huez and summit finish in Les 2 Alpes. This final climb of the day rises 608m from the Chambon Dam at an average of 6.2% to reach the finish line in Les 2 Alpes.

Les 2 Alpes international ski resort is located in Isère, in the Northen French Alps, 70 km from Grenoble.

The resort of 2 Alpes welcomes you all summer long from 23rd of June until 1st of September 2018 and has many activities to offer to please one and all!

Road bike:

Les 2 Alpes’ resort is situated in the heart of Oisans, the place to be for amateur and professional cyclists with legendary cols: Col du Lautaret, Col du Galibier, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col de Sarenne, the Alpe d’Huez climb, Les 2 Alpes climb…

Summer skiing:

Between 3200m and 3600m, the glacier (the biggest skiable glacier in Europe) welcomes amateur and professional ski racers all summer long on the slopes but also on the internationally renowned snowpark.

Mountain bike:

A unique area of downhill mountain biking with more than 12 000 m of ascending elevation between 900n and 3200m of elevation, with adapted cable cars to carry bikes.

Activities for everyone:

Sporting activities such as hiking, white-water sports, via ferrata, climbing, paragliding…

But also relaxing moments with the fitness, sunbathing…

Les 2 Alpes obviously also lives for the winter season from 26th October until 4th November and from 1st December 2018 until 27th April 2019!
