Event details
The inaugural Maserati Haute Route Norway is set to take place from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th of August 2018 in the Stavanger region. Loyal to the new 3-day concept, the Maserati Haute Route Norway will be based in one unique location and will feature two classic road stages and an uphill time trial.
The Stavanger region offers an exceptional setting for this brand new Scandinavian adventure; a city nestled between the most beautiful Norwegian fjords, a deep rooted cycling culture, perfect roads and stunning climbs.
You will discover some of the most beautiful and challenging terrain in the world where roads with majestic switch-back climbs in amongst the Norwegian fjords – already an area of world class tourism. For certain stages you will take a ferry across the Fjord to reach the start line, the perfect opportunity to enjoy the surroundings.
Highlights of the first two stages will include views on the Pulpit Rock, Lysefjord bridge and Kjerag Rock. The climb to Lysheiane at the start of second stage promises to be memorable with its 20 hairpin bends and 8% average gradient. The time trial on the final day will reward riders with a jaw-dropping view over the ocean, mountains and fjords from the top of Ullandhaug before a short descent and final steep climb to the finish near Ullandhaugtårnet.
The Maserati Haute Route Norway will benefit from a single race village location, simplifying logistics and will feature all the key ingredients that make Haute Route events unique where amateur riders, of a range of abilities, are treated like pros.
In keeping with the Haute Route’s unique proposition, you will benefit from safety, mechanical and medical support on the road, massages and a rider’s meal after racing and full logistical support, meaning that the focus is exclusively on the riding.
Getting to the beautiful Stavanger is very simple; it boasts the second largest airport in Norway and a mere 15-minute transfer to the town centre. With the Stavanger region being world renowned for a number of its touristic attractions, why not extend your Norwegian stay with your friends and family and enjoy some more time to explore.
