With only a couple of weeks left to go before the second edition of the Haute Route Alpe d’Huez, we share with you this week a few more pieces of information you will need before race day. Firstly, there’s a reminder to read your roadbook and upload your medical certificate as well as the details of registration day on the Thursday. We also introduce your rider relations team and share with you the GPX files of the three stages.

Haute Route Stelvio 18 Newsletter Day 3

After three days of incredible riding over the ‘3 Mitiche’, the inaugural Haute Route Stelvio came to an exciting end today on the slopes of the King, Passo dello Stelvio.

The 2018 Haute Route Stelvio peloton enjoyed almost perfect conditions on the mighty Passo del Mortirolo and Passo Gavia as they climbed up two of Italy’s most renowned climbs.

Haute Route Stelvio 18 Day 1

The peloton of the inaugural Haute Route Stelvio set off at 7:30am this morning from Piazza Cavour located in the pedestrianised town-centre of Bormio. On the programme of today’s 83-kilometre stage: the Passo Umbrail (taking the first 18km of the Stelvio ascent from Bormio) and the 25km climb up to Passo Stelvio from Prato allo Stelvio.

After two successful Haute Route events on American soil in San Francisco and Asheville, the Haute Route Cycling Series resumed today in Europe with the inaugural Haute Route Stelvio, the first stopover in Italy in 2018.
