Haute Route April Update - COVID-19

Cancellation of the 2020 Haute Route Dolomites and Haute Route Crans-Montana
17/04/2020

Dear riders,

Given the current global health crisis, we hope that you and your relatives are well. We understand that you may have questions regarding the Haute Route events happening in the next few months and we wanted to shed some light on this.

Following the recent guidelines implemented by the healthcare and government authorities in Italy and Switzerland, and the decision from UCI to extend the period of suspension of competitions until 1st of July, Covid-19 has become a force majeure event. As such, it is with a heavy heart that we have been forced to cancel the Haute Route Dolomites and Haute Route Crans-Montana in 2020.

While we wanted nothing more than to give you an unforgettable experience in the heart of these two amazing destinations, our top priority remains your health and, like all of us, Haute Route too must adapt to the situation.

We will contact every rider registered for the Haute Route Dolomites or Haute Route Crans-Montana in 2020 within the next hour with details regarding the transfer of their entry to an event in 2021, or a refund for those who purchased cancellation insurance. In these unprecedented circumstances, we will strive to find the best solution for every single participant.

We are carefully assessing the situation to find a way to hold our other events and are taking several elements into account. We understand the concerns you may have given the changes to training conditions, travel restrictions in the coming months, and the stress caused by the situation as it stands. On top of that, the 2020 Tour de France has officially been postponed to now run between August 29th and September 20th. With a start from Nice and stages held in the Alps and Pyrenees in the first two weeks, this will complicate the delivery of our flagship events.

While we are monitoring the changing circumstances, we would like to adopt a flexible approach and limit the concerns you may have. We are offering every rider registered for 2020 the opportunity to transfer their registration to 2021. To do so, please email our Client Service team at [email protected]

More than ever, take care of yourselves and your relatives.

See you on the road again soon.

The Haute Route team
