In summer, Megève undoubtedly plays its cycling card with an exceptional program of international competitions. Between the mountains of Mont Blanc and Aravis, the roads of Megève welcome every summer, appointments cycling long-awaited, like Time Megève Mont-Blanc, the MB Race Culture Vélo (test of the World Cup MTB marathon) and of course the Haute Route Alps.

Highlight of this strategy around cycling, Megève was city-stage of the Tour de France in 2016 and was also the starting city, the same year, the cyclosportive L’Étape du Tour.

The Women’s Football World Cup and Ironman 70.3 World Championships as well as the Top 14 final and Rugby World Cup are all on the schedule in years to come, culminating with hosting the Football during the 2024 Olympics.

Cycling has played a key role in the sports calendar in Nice for over 70 years now with the finish of the Paris-Nice pro race in March, a Team-Time-Trial stage on the Tour in 2013, the famous Transvésubienne raid, the Tour Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur and soon the Grand Départ of the Tour de France in 2020.

Situated between the sea and the mountains, the Nice region is a stunning natural environment for cycling. The roads and mountains are ideal for training and for racing, with trails in the Parc du Mercantour also available for those who prefer to ride off-road.
