ICYMI: Four Haute Route courses were announced last week.

With the new year in full swing, and the start of the Haute Route season in Oman just over a month away the courses for four different Haute Route events were announced last week. Haute Route Dolomites – 7-9th June, Cortina d’Ampezzo
Original: 213km / 8230M+
Compact: 134km / 5870M+
Key Info: New dates in June. New prestigious host town in Cortina d’Ampezzo and totally revamped course. Three summit finishes (Valparola, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Giau). All cols above 2100M. First time on Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Time Trial up Passo Giau. Two courses to choose from.
Cols: Passo Falzarego x2, Passo Pordoi, Passo Sella, Passo Gardena, Passo Valparola, Passo Giau x2, Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

Haute Route Alpe d’Huez – 12-14th July, Alpe d’Huez
Original: 208km / 7735M+
Compact: 157km / 6135M+
Key Info: The most famous cycling destination in the world. Three different ascents of Alpe d’Huez including a time trial on the 21 bends. Double ascent of Croix de Fer on stage 1. Two courses to choose from.
Cols: Col de la Croix de Fer x2, Alpe d’Huez x3, Col de Sarenne, Les 2 Alpes.

Haute Route Stelvio, 20-22nd September, Bormio
Original: 194km / 8060M+
Compact: 101km / 5000M+
Key Info: New dates in September. Duo-only competition format. The most famous col in Italy. Two ascents of Passo dello Stelvio. Toughest ascent of Passo Mortirolo. Summit finishes on Passo dello Stelvio and Passo Gavia. Two courses to choose from. One major Italian col per stage on Compact course.

Haute Route Ventoux, 4-6th October, Bédoin
Original: 268km / 7980M+
Compact: 214km / 5380M+
Key Info: Final European event of the season. Ideal riding conditions in French Provence. Three different ascents of Mont Ventoux. Stunning sunrise ascent through Gorges de la Nesque. Discover the sublime foothills of Mont Ventoux. Time trial up Mont Ventoux from Bédoin. Two courses to choose from.
Cols: Col des Trois Termes, Cols de La Ligne, Col de la Liguière, Mont Ventoux x3, Gorges de la Nesque, Col de l’Homme Mort, Col des Aires, Col des Astauds, Col de la Madeleine.
