Industry-leading cycling brand Mavic has today been announced as the first Haute Route Cycling Series’ Main Partner, marking a dynamic evolution in the history of the world’s highest and toughest cyclosportives.

Mavic will increase its support of the Haute Route, becoming the series’ Clothing Partner in addition to its provision of comprehensive race services and fleet of yellow neutral support vehicles - a service it has provided since the inaugural edition five years ago.

Rémi Duchemin, CEO of OC Sport said: “Mavic has been an integral part of the success of the Haute Route since 2011 and it’s incredibly exciting to announce our increased partnership.

“Delivering a level of rider support usually reserved for the professional peloton is absolutely integral to our offering and there is no organisation in world cycling better able to deliver this than Mavic.

“The Haute Route’s global appeal among committed amateur cyclists continues to explode in popularity with a peloton comprising 50 different nationalities already registered for this year’s events.”

The Haute Route concept revolves around the core delivery of the professional rider’s experience for amateurs seeking the ultimate challenge: stage racing on the most demanding and iconic terrain in world cycling, with three events in the Alps, Pyrenees and Dolomites Swiss Alps.

Mavic’s Brand Director, Francois-Xavier Blanc, said: “By combining cutting-edge race services and a truly innovative race format, the Haute Route aligns perfectly with Mavic’s historical values.

“We are delighted to bring technical support to riders on the road and deliver a critical component of the Haute Route experience. The extreme demands of the typical Haute Route event - more than 20,000 vertical metres of climbing in a week - pushes riders to their limits. This creates a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate our expertise while engaging in the cycling culture and lifestyle of the amateur peloton.

“We will provide each Haute Route 2015 rider with a tailor-made cycling kit to showcase our continuous investment in research, product design and development. Upgrading our partnership with the Haute Route and entering into a long-term association is the step forward we have been looking for.”

Compact editions over the first two or three stages will also be staged providing the perfect gateway to those new to the Haute Route concept.

The Haute Route Pyrenees covers 805km between Anglet on the Basque Coast and Toulouse; the Haute Route Alps, 781km between Nice and Geneva; and the Haute Route Dolomites Swiss Alps, 893km between Geneva and Venice.
